RESEARCH : MOURANI-CRIMINOLOGY firm
On November 1 2017, we commissioned Mourani-Criminology, a social science research firm, to conduct a study on the housing needs of women and girls wishing to leave the sex industry and to identify intervention models. This is funded by the Department of Public Safety Canada.
Ms Maria MOURANIDoctoral-Researcher
Maria Mourani, president and founder of the firm, is the doctoral researcher responsible for this study. She is a criminologist and sociologist specializing in the issues of human trafficking, prostitution and criminal groups. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Criminology and a Master's degree in Sociology from the Université de Montréal. She is a PhD student at the School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa.
